# Reset Text Cursor Color (OSC 112)

> Put the text cursor color back as it started.

- **Sequence:** `OSC 112 ST`
- **ECMA-48:** [§8.3.89 OSC – Operating System Command, p. 51](https://archive.org/details/ecma-48-5th-edition-june-1991/page/n64/mode/1up)
- **xterm:** [Operating System Commands](https://invisible-island.net/xterm/ctlseqs/ctlseqs.html)

`OSC 112 ST` puts the color of the text cursor, [OSC 12](https://control-codes.page/osc/cursor-color/index.html.md), back as the
terminal started it, undoing any change made with `OSC 12 ; Pt ST`. xterm
resets it to the value it started with ([`ResetColorsRequest`](https://github.com/ThomasDickey/xterm-snapshots/blob/xterm-411a/misc.c#L3718-L3753)).

It takes no parameter. xterm ignores an `OSC 112` that carries anything after
the number, `OSC 112 ; 1 ST` say, as a malformed sequence ([`do_osc`](https://github.com/ThomasDickey/xterm-snapshots/blob/xterm-411a/misc.c#L4102-L4160)); an
empty one, `OSC 112 ; ST`, is the same as none.

libghostty-vt has it, and agrees with xterm.

This is the Markdown version of <https://control-codes.page/osc/reset-cursor-color/>. On that page every validation case runs live in libghostty-vt, the terminal emulation core of Ghostty, compiled to WebAssembly.

The validation cases are written in the notation described in <https://control-codes.page/notation/index.html.md>.
